Bella specie dal portamento a pulvino e dalla vistosa fioritura bianca. Le foglie si presentano in parte trasformate in spine per resistere al selettivo ambiente costiero. A Cupra si rinviene esclusivamente nei tratti di litorale sabbioso, evitando i ciottoli.
